Assumption University of Windsor and St. Peter’s Seminary of London are pleased to announce the signing of a new Memorandum of Agreement between two institutes of Catholic higher education. The agreement took effect on January 25, 2023, and will remain in effect for five years.

The new agreement will allow a pathway from Assumption University’s new online Graduate Diploma in Catholic Studies to two graduate degrees at St. Peter’s Seminary. Those who successfully complete courses within Assumption University’s Graduate Diploma in Catholic Studies may be granted advanced standing into either the Master of Divinity degree or the Master of Theological Studies degree programmes offered at St. Peter’s Seminary. In addition to meeting all entry requirement at St. Peter’s Seminary, students will need to obtain a least a B- or 70% in their Assumption University courses for advanced standing to be considered.

Principal John Cappucci of Assumption University notes that this agreement is a “historic agreement between two institutes of Catholic learning.” He noted that this agreement will provide Assumption’s students with a worthwhile opportunity to obtain another credential at a distinguished Catholic seminary. “The key is to continue the learning process by providing exciting opportunities for students across the region,” said Cappucci.

Assumption University’s new online Graduate Diploma in Catholic Studies was launched in the Fall of 2022. It comprises five graduate courses, including courses on Catholic thought, social justice, and interreligious dialogue. The diploma was developed with the working professional in mind offering courses outside of working hours. The diploma is considered a hiring asset by eight Catholic school boards in the province. The diploma courses are available both for-credit and audit. The next intake for the diploma will be for the Spring of 2023. The deadline to apply is May 5, 2023. L’Université Assumption de Windsor et le St. Peter’s Seminary de Londres sont heureux d’annoncer la signature d’un nouveau protocole d’accord entre deux instituts d’enseignement supérieur catholique. L’accord est entré en vigueur le 25 janvier 2023 et restera en vigueur pendant cinq ans.

Le nouvel accord permettra de passer du nouveau diplôme d’études supérieures en ligne d’études catholiques de l’Université de l’Assomption à deux diplômes d’études supérieures au Séminaire Saint-Pierre. Ceux qui terminent avec succès les cours du diplôme d’études supérieures en études catholiques de l’Université de l’Assomption peuvent obtenir des équivalences dans les programmes de maîtrise en théologie ou de maîtrise en études théologiques offerts au Séminaire Saint-Pierre. En plus de satisfaire à toutes les conditions d’entrée au Séminaire Saint-Pierre, les étudiants devront obtenir au moins un B- ou 70% dans leurs cours de l’Université de l’Assomption pour que des équivalences soient prises en compte.

Il a noté que cet accord offrira aux étudiants de l’Assomption une occasion intéressante d’obtenir un autre diplôme dans un séminaire catholique distingué. “La clé est de poursuivre le processus d’apprentissage en offrant des opportunités passionnantes aux étudiants de toute la région”, a déclaré Cappucci.

Le nouveau diplôme d’études supérieures en ligne de l’Université de l’Assomption a été lancé à l’automne 2022. Il comprend cinq cours d’études supérieures, dont des cours sur la pensée catholique, la justice sociale et le dialogue interreligieux. Le diplôme a été développé en pensant aux professionnels qui offrent des cours en dehors des heures de travail. Le diplôme est considéré comme un atout pour l’embauche par huit conseils scolaires catholiques de la province. Les cours diplômants sont disponibles à la fois en crédit et en audit. La prochaine admission pour le diplôme aura lieu au printemps 2023. La date limite de candidature est le 5 mai 2023.
